A Koala Map of Cobram & Barooga

I drew this cool map featuring many of the koala territories my family and I have discovered since moving to Barooga.

This is special because when I was growing up in Corowa (upstream), there were no koalas. It's terrific to see them in the wild again.

Xin Nian Kuaile 2018 (Happy New Year, 2018)

Drawn a year ago for Chinese New Year. This was a lot of fun to draw, and based on the Chinese paper cut art.

Kevin Koala in Shanghai - Part One

This is the first Kevin Koala comic where I used Comic Life 3 as a means of adding text.

Numbers & Greetings worksheet

This is a part of a Numbers and Greetings worksheet I drew for teaching Chinese. I was quite happy with how it looked. Simple but very effective.

Japanese Language Awards

These were fun to create! After a trip to Japan in 2016, I came back with quite a lot of inspiration of what the Japanese culture is like. I drew these to help assist the Japanese language teacher here at school. The awards follow the Japanese theme of seasons.

Pencil Sketch

This is a photo of a sketch I made of my son years ago when he was a few weeks old. He was born premature and had to be kept in hospital for nearly three months. The hospital staff were fantastic and I can not thank them enough. At one stage during the journey, the nursing staff found that he was loosing body temperature, so he had to be kept in his humidity crib for a few days. We weren't allowed to hold him for about three days. So instead, I pulled out the sketch pad and drew.

Gone Bush No# 2.8

The names for the two football clubs featured here come from the local Yorta Yorta language. "dhukandira" means wombat, while "gurburr" means koala. I added the "a" onto the end of the name to make it "Gurburra" so that it sounds more like a possible name for a local town.

Many of the towns  of Victoria's North East / Southern NSW have Aboriginal names that end with "a", such as Wangaratta, Echuca, Corowa, Wahgunyah, Wodonga, Yackandandah, Moama, Barooga and (my favourite) Tangambalanga.

Gone Bush No# 2.7

What would you have is fish were stuck in traffic? Would they feel the same as us?  I made sure to add a few Murray River species in this comic (no carp allowed!)

Chinese Food Nouns work sheet

The illustrations for this one were quick as well as fun to draw. Adding colour with poster textas adds to the visual appeal.

Archeolon Turtle

This is a drawing for another English / Chinese book I am working on;  恐龙国,  Kǒng lóng guó (Dinosaur Land).
